

San Antonio Greenways Trail Patrol |

Do you care about the trails in your community? The Trail Patrol consists of dedicated volunteers partnering with the city and emergency personnel, to assist, educate and inform all trail users in order to enhance their recreational experience.
The objectives of the volunteer program are to maintain the safety and integrity of the trail system, to provide information and assistance to trail users and to be a vital “on-the-trail” resource for Trail Stewards and the city’s Park and Recreation Department.
Qualifications:
• Must, in their own personal judgment, have no medical condition which is incompatible with doing trail patrol work
• Must carry a cell phone while on patrol
• Must maintain a current basic CPR / emergency care certification (we will provide)
• Has knowledge of the trails within the area patrolled
• Exhibits responsibility, judgment, interpersonal skills and environmental awareness
• Completes a 3 hour trail patrol orientation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Completes a personal information sheet and signs a liability release
Training:
• Complete a 1 hour orientation with the Trail Steward or their training appointee
• Complete a 2 hour on-the-trail orientation tour with a trail patrol member
• Ask questions of other Trail Patrol members or the Trail Steward as needed
