If you’ve ever ridden the perimeter trail at O.P. Schnabel Park, you have Don Sleeper to thank for it. In fact, Don has had a hand in creating and maintaining numerous cycling trails throughout San Antonio, more than most anyone else in the local cycling community.

Proceeds from the STORM Marathon concession sales and a portion of the race proceeds were donated to "Valerie's Wishes"

Thanks to everyone that particpated in the Marathon, espcially those that enjoyed food and drink at the concession stand. Also a special thank you to our voluteers, we cannot have a race without all of your hard work.

Valerie Hunter

Valerie Hunter, wife of STORM past president David Hunter, lost her battle with breast cancer on December 12. Read more HERE

Special thanks to Lance Armstrong for taking time after the race to visit with David Hunter, his son, Carson and the rest of Valerie's family. Lance took time to sign t-shirts, pictures, books and more importantly, listen to Valerie's couragous story.

David has particpated many times in past Ride for the Roses events to raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and cancer research. The T-shirts the family are wearing show Valerie in her LAF bandana - this was the picture shown on the jumbo-tron during one of those events. Both Valerie and her brother, Stewart Pfeffer, lost their battle to cancer in 2007. We wish David and his family all the best.
